SERAMON® CHORDAE LOOP
Mitral valve repair.
Sternotomy, mini-thoracotomy, endoscopy or robotics:
for every team.
The neochord that keeps you from losing precious time.
The four loops arrive made and tied. In the OR, you measure, choose and implant.
Standardised.
Predictable.
Four neochords of equal length on a single pledget; length and knots checked during manufacture. The same length, from one procedure to the next.
Precise, down to the needle.
Two HR-17 needles: 17 mm half circle, non-cutting round body, 300-series surgical steel. They anchor the pledget to the papillary muscle. Eleven loop lengths, from 10 to 30 mm.
One single material.
Solid, non-absorbable PTFE. With the SERAMON fixation suture, loop and fixation are the same PTFE, in the same gauge.
SERAMON® CHORDAE LOOP
Mitral valve repair.
Sternotomy. Mini-thoracotomy. Endoscopy. Robotics.

The product
Every millimetre
has a reason.
A finished implant, ready to place: four loops on one pledget, two HR-17 needles.
The pledget
Oval, hand-finished against fraying.
Pure PTFE felt, 6 × 3 × 2 mm. One single anchor on the papillary muscle for four loops.
The knots
Embedded in the felt.
Nothing protrudes on the ventricular side. Loop length and knot strength checked during manufacture.
- PTFE, USP 3/0solid, non-expanded, undyed
- Oval pledgetpure PTFE felt, 6 × 3 × 2 mm
- 2 HR-17 needleshalf circle, round body, 17 mm
- Suture 2 × 45 cmsterile, single use
The best way
to form an opinion:
try them.
We make loops available to your team for an evaluation in the OR, under an agreement with your hospital pharmacy, and we come to present them.
Every surgical approach
With or without a robot.
The loop arrives ready to implant, whatever the equipment of your OR.
Sternotomy
One step less when several neochords are needed.
Mini‑thoracotomy
No loop to make on the back table, no length to adjust with a knot pushed at a distance.
Endoscopy
One technical step less, where every move counts.
Robotics
Length set by design: no knot to slide to adjust the height. Only the fixation to the leaflet remains to be tied.
Premeasured loop technique described for conventional as well as minimally invasive surgery (von Oppell and Mohr, Ann Thorac Surg 2000;70:2166-8, ePTFE loops made by the team).
The material
Solid PTFE.
A different material from ePTFE.
The neochords you implant are most often made of expanded PTFE (ePTFE), a microporous material1. SERAMON is a solid, non-expanded PTFE monofilament: same polymer, different structure. What is known about one does not carry over to the other.

Depends on the team
In the body.
Non-absorbable and physiologically inert, PTFE is slowly encapsulated by connective tissue2.
